    Bellevue Lookout – Washoe Lake Scenic Spot

    Step out of your car and immediately take in the views of Washoe Lake on one side and the Eastern Sierra Nevada on the opposite side. Explore more and walk into the meadow or to the water’s edge, keeping an eye open for seagulls, pelicans, and other birds and possibly some of Nevada’s feral horses.

    Take the Bellevue Rd exit in Washoe Valley between Carson City and Reno. Head east towards the lake until it dead ends in a roundabout parking area

    Beginner-type gear and even fly fishing can do well at this small pond. Walk around the ponds edge casting lures or bait to the stocked rainbow trout or try from the accessible floating dock.

    Watch for the occasional duck quacking at you and the bullfrogs in the shallows.

    Turn into Carson City fairgrounds on Old Clear Creek Rd. Go through rodeo area, following dirt road. Safe for most cars.

    Wander through sagebrush and high desert landscape on a flat and easy trail. Enjoy an easy one and half mile loop with stops near the rivers shore and scattered benches to enjoy the peace and fresh air.

    The trail starts near the parking lot for the Korean War Veterans Memorial Park with clear signage right near the century old milk house and oven ruins.
